Sentinel Bot Design

This is the first version of a character design for a “Sentinel” robot for a friend’s webcomic.

The design is meant to be an 8-foot tall bipedal robot whose purpose is to scan rooms and serve as a security guard. The design requirement was a slender body with sharp animal-like teeth and horn-looking appendages on this head that serve as radio antennae without looking like an antenna. The hand and feed are inspired by claw machines. I used references from human skeletons and iconic “Scarry” robot features such as squinting eyes and large mental jaws.
